Default Philly AOS couples (pre-NBC) Timeline

Hey guys!

I want to rally a Philadelphia Office Timeline for all those of
us who filed for AOS at Callowhill before Philly forwarded them
to the NBC.
Post-NBC filers will probably have a speedier process (we envy
you for it).

I'd love to find out how long it takes from filing AOS to the AOS
Interview.

-----------------

I don't have a particular reason for this, other than to have someone
similar to compare my case to. I know case timelines differ for no good
reason, and you cannot expect to get the same dates everybody else gets,
but it's something to make an average out of.

I've been getting emails and reading posts from fellow couples who got
their k visas approved after us, came over, married and filed after us,
that are already attending their AOS interviews. They live in other
states, so I can't get nervous about the huge difference in dates (my
NOA says I shouldn't even expect to hear from my office until May next
year) but I would love to have a reference.

Our dates:

Filed: November 2003
NOA says: [not before] April 2005

Hey

I just got a call from my congressman's liaison and she said my interview
date has been set.
We contact her last week to inquire the status and it took just *one week*
for her to set a interview date for me.
She also added that my background check hasn't been cleared which might not
be done by my interview date.
Yey~ This waiting game is almost over.
Too bad I filed the EAD renewal last week. Is there anyway I can cancel it
to get my $175 back?

Here is my timeline.
09/22/03 : Filed I-130/I-485 at Philly DO (in person)
09/03/04 : I-485 receipt (from Philly DO) (after one year since filed)
09/04/04 : FP notice (from Philly DO)
09/14/04: FP at Philly ASC
09/20/04: phone call from congressman - interview scheduled on 10/20/04
(no official letter yet)

You called your congressman to inquire on the status of your AOS
interview?
Why, what did your NOA say?

I filed I-485 on Sep 03 but didn't receive NOA for a year.
I called 1-800 number and told them I didn't get any NOA. After that, I
received NOA(one year after filing) saying:
"This case normally takes 15 months. DO NOT CONTACT US before Nov 2005."
I have already waited about an year but the NOA said I have to wait until
Nov 05 which is 26 months after filing. I couldn't understand why I have to
wait 26 months because the NOA said it usually takes 15 months.
So I contacted my congressman to find out what was happening and then she
just set the interview date for me.
Strange?

Thanks Jshong and Bequibar for your input.

My time line is same as Jshong's:

Applied in person for I-130/I-485 on 9 Sep 03.
Applied for Advanced Parole (I-131) on 15 July 04.
Received Fingerprint notice for 8th Aug 04 (Most likely triggered by
I-131 Application)
Received Notice of I-485 receipt on 28 July 04 with a receipt date
of 9 Sep 04.

The letter says that the normal processing time for this application is
15 months, and says not to contact the office if I have not received a
notice by October 21, 2005!

This is awfully long for this to be processed. I don't know what to do.
Perhaps I need to call my congressman as well. Jshong, who did you
contact and how did you present your case?

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh okay, I thought you had contacted your congressman because you didn't
like to wait that long for an interview, but if you hadn't received any
NOA at all, and then when you finally received it it had given you a 25
month wait, then yeah, I would've contacted the congressman too.

My timeline for usenet posters who can't see my sig-line:

2003
November 26 ... AOS filed
- it will take 12-15 months to get an interview, 3-6 months to get
EAD, 1 week to get AP
December 4 .... AP granted, good for multiple entries, expires
in one year

2004
January 10 .... AOS NOA (dated january 8)
- processing time: 15 months. Notice of interview not to be expected
before April 2, 2005
January 13 .... Fingerprint Notification arrives (dated january 5)
January 20 .... Fingerprinting. Also went to SS office and re-filed
for SSN January 26 .... SSN card arrives in the mail
January 27 .... EAD letter arrives: interview appointment february 9
February 9 .... EAD granted

So far, everything has gone on according to their timeline without a
hitch (meaning: I in fact received my AP whithin 1 week and my EAD
whithin 3 months), so I am expecting to hear from them come April
next year...
