Default Passport Question

My Canadian passport is about to expire and I notice that on the passport
application it asks to provide any previous passports that were issued to me
in the past. Now my original K-1 visa is in that passport, don't I need
this still?

Default Re: Passport Question

I renewed my Canadian passport not long ago and faced the same problem.
It took about 2 weeks, but I got both my new passport and they returned
the original one with the K-1 in it. The old passport had been stamped
"annulled". If you don't need your original passport in the next few
weeks, you should be okay. Make sure you FedEx it to Canada - don't send
it via USPS.

Jim's experience was the same as Ian's. However, we had to go through
Quebec and I forget the reason why. We send it USPS with return receipt
requested for foreign mail. Took about two weeks to get both the new
and the old ones back. The biggest obstacles for Jim were the fact that
his Quebec birth certificate was not the type they wanted for a passport
and he had to order new ones from Quebec and second was getting someone
in a professional level to say they knew him for x number of years.
Actually that wasn't a problem because my attorneys have met Jim and
participated in our wedding parties and one was more than willing to
sign the affidavit.
