Default Parents visiting Canada while sponsorship in progress

Good day all,

I had a quick question about visitation privileges as a tourist while
sponsorship to Canada is in progress. Apparently, its been claimed
that parents sponsorship application could take upto 48-60 months (or
maybe even more) to complete. Now this is nearly 4-5 years time frame.

During this time can parents visit Canada on a tourist visa for say 1
or 2 months in a year?

If so, is there anything special that parents would need to do to get
tourist visas?

Do immigration officials "totally refuse" to grant tourist visas to
parents in such situations or its possible but just difficult?

Does it help if they (parents) have visited Canada several times in
the past as tourists and returned to their home country well within
their visa expiration dates?

If anyone could shed some light on this concern it would be greatly
appreciated.

Kind regards,
-L

As long as the parents can demonstrate ties to the home country, there is a
good chance they will receive a visitor visa, especially if they have
visited before and returned home. You should always ensure that they have
medical coverage before any visit.
