Default Oz Migration

I'm looking to study a Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery in Australia or
maybe a Diploma taking advantage of the two year study/work experience waiver.

My query is though the TRA will require work experiece for a valid skills
assessment. The point of waiving the work experience is what exactly?

I'm not sure if there are waivers of some sort with Australian
qualifications, does anyone? It is a 60 point skill and under the Australian
Qualification Framework (AQF) I would be employable, in Australia with that
qualification as a cook.

Many Thanks

Hi there,

What do you mean by two year study/work experience waver?

We can advise you on various option to study Commercial Cookery...most
for Feb 2007 entry are full.....

Any questions just ask...our preferred partner institution in Melbourne
includes paid industry placement every other semester, in addition to
your student visa work rights

I mean if you study for 2 years in Australia then you do not need work
experience for the points test. My concern is the TRA? What can I do?

To obtain a positive skills assessment classification from TRA using the
Australian qualification pathway you will be required to demonstrate 900
hours of relevant work experience in the occupation you are nominating.

Have a look at TRA's Uniform Assessment Criteria, which you can access
via this webpage:
http://www.workplace.gov.au/workplace/Category/SchemesInitiatives/TRA/1-
SkillsassessmentforpeopleintendingtomigratetoAustr alia.htm

Best regards.

What is the likely I will be able to find 900 hours or more over two year in
this area to satisfy the TRA?

Cheers

That is an issue for you to investigate further, perhaps in liaison with
your course provider ...

Best regards.
