Default notarized/certified copies of marriage certificate etc for AOS?

I've read at places that I don't need to notarize any document copies
for adjustment of status through family member. Can someone confirm
this please? Thanks.

IF you have ORIGINALS you don't need them notarised as they have their
OWN seal on it. But if you only have photocopies then YES you do need
to have them notorised. For example birth certificates an marriage
licences. I also didnt have to show originals until the actually
interview. Please keep in mind I am talking from personal experience
and I am not attorney or an immigration officer. Good Luck with your
process.

I never got any copies notarized. Only the I-864 needed notarizing.

Hi:

The new I-864 need not be notarized. In fact, neither did the old one
-- but it took the immigration authorities to realize that fact.

the USCIS website says:

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

I personal had to show my original copies at the time of my interview.
USCIS also changes it's procedures constantly so you never know what
they will change next. I was glad I had my originals for my
interviewer to compare to the copies I had sent in with my intial
filing.
