No interim EADs at local offices

I just got back from an Infopass appointment at my local office to try
and get an interim EAD. Its 90 days (actually 89 they told me, I was a
little eager with my counting!) since my I-765 application was filed.
The officer was nice and did lots of typing on his computer. He gave me
a notice informing me that they are no longer able to give out interim
EADs (the policy changed 2 months ago he said). But he sent an email on
my behalf and I should receive my EAD within the next 10 days.
My AOS interview with my husband, however is in 12 days and if all goes
well, I may be approved for my green card and receive it soon after. In
which case, I won't even need my EAD. The officer said this may be why
they have not yet approved my EAD. The only delay after our interview
might be that the security checks are still pending but he informed me
it all looks fine on that front. Fingers crossed.

Thank you so much for the update! I'm sorry you couldn't get the
interim, but finally we got someone who actually had this
experience. This will be helpful to lots of folks, I'm sure.

I figured it would be useful to people. There's a lot of mixed messages.
I've just looked on the USCIS.gov website and it still states that
interim EADs are available from your local office.
My local office is in Bloomington, Minnesota.

I had the same issue when I went for mine........got it about 10 days
later, though (Santa Ana, CA)
