I have no expertise to offer you, but I wanted to send you heartfelt
encouragement. Yes, he should try, because this is incredibly important,
and he should be there, even if they only give him a short stay. I would
*never* say that someone who is fighting for such an important reason could
look like an idiot. I think it's completely understandable that he needs to
be with you, and it would be cruel for him, as your husband, not to be.
I will keep you in my prayers for a successful recovery. Best wishes to
you, and good luck with the visa officer.
