need advice for citizenship in process
Hi, experts, I need urgently for the advice of my citizenship
application:
My citizenship application has been 1.5 years, and now still in
process, because in the middle of the process( about 7 months after
application,) toronto office asked me to do fingerprint check, this
checks took about 7 months by RCMP. shit it. one months ago i was told
that the fingerprint check was finalized and it was returned to
Citizenship, I recently called CIC, I was told that because it has
been over 1 year since my application , i need to be checked again,
another 7 months????? anyone with such experience can advice the
time line from now? I tried to ask the call centre agent, but they
wouldn't tell. thanks for advice, i am getting crazy for this long and
unreasonable wait.

It will not be another 7 months.

Re: need advice for citizenship in process
Dear Jim,
I may be in a similar situation. I understand from reading the CIC
manuals that the only thing they wont repeat is the RCMP fingerprinting
check because they already have the results. But how long will the CSIS
and Immigration check take if they are done a second time ? My
fingerprints were sent out in July this year and I have yet to hear from
CIC that the results have come back. So in my case, could you please
suggest me an approximate time as to how long further will it take ? For
your note, while sending the fingerprints, i called cic and the agent
told me that my CSIS and Immigration clearances were done and on the
file. She said that they were just waiting for the RCMP clearance, which
once done, they will then schedule me for a test and oath.
Thanks for guiding us with your experience.

Re: need advice for citizenship in process
RCMP fingerprint checking is taking quite a bit longer than it used to -
perhaps 5 months now, but that is done in parallel with the other checks so
it becomes the likely processing time for most simple cases.

Obviously the harder part is over. They got your prints and just have
to re-check. Should be just another month or two before you get called to
do the test, then about 3 months for the oath. Possibly shorter in your
case because of the delays already.
Good luck.

Re: need advice for citizenship in process
Hi, Trecomania:
I have a similar situation, too. Could you please tell me where can I find
'CIC manuals'? Thanks.
