Default Name change in passport before or after PR

My wife has changed her name after marriage, but hasn't changed it yet in
her passport. A friend told us she'd better change it before receiving PR,
because a change in the passport later on would cause some hassle. We're in
the early steps of the process, so we can still decide on that over the
next few months.

Is it that the PR Registration always has the same name as
in the passport and has to be changed?

Has anybody experience or advice on that?

Andreas, CSQ interview scheduled
