Default Mr. Miller: CIC call centre agent about the police certificate

Mr. Miller:

I just called the CIC 1-888-242-2100 and asked if it's okay just to get a
local police certificate (not the RCMP) and she said that it's the same. In
this forum, Mr. Humphries pointed out that RCMP is required. When I went to
Edmonton local police station, they have an option in the police security
clearance with a checkbox [ x ] Immigration to Canada. Is this the same
case?

I was cautious about this, so I also filled in the form C-216C and did my
fingerprint too. Do I have to file both?

Thanks,
Lee
