Default Meds request without case officer???

I've seen a lot of requests for medicals lately, mostly from late May to
mid-June applicants.

Are these people getting case officers as well? I've heard mention that
to speed things up ASPC is asking for meds before the case officers have
been assigned... is this true?

Wouldn't the email requesting meds identify your case officer?

Just curious as it seems we may be asked for them shortly and I would
like to know if the request is merely to speed things along, or if it is
coming from a case officer.

Exactly, if they request meds, CO was assigned.

I have always believed that to be the case until recently. But given
that the offical processing date is May 4th, and people are being asking
for meds that applied mid June I'm starting to wonder.

This is the thread that got me wondering about the current
procedure at ASPC.

Lookat the post second from the bottom and it mentions the word pre-
assessment. I'm just wondering if that is in fact happening now, where
meds are asked for prior to obtaining a case officer.

The current processing date is a guide only. Some people COs are
assigned much earlier.

Hi Haley,

The only person authorised to request medicals is a case officer. But
we do know that the advertised case officer allocation times are quite
conservative.

Thanks everyone,

So I guess I can be excited when we finally get asked for our meds. No
kidding about the dates. I always knew they published the early date
and that many people got co's ahead of it. But I was just a little
shocked that there are now co's for applicants a full 6 weeks ahead of
the published date.

I hope we're one of the lucky ones who gets it early as we hope to be
there in January if possible.

Thanks again for clearing that up.

We didn't even know we had a case officer assigned. One night Hub
called DIMA to see if one was assigned to our case and the next morning
the grant letter was in my inbox. Guess we had one after all.

As I previously posted we have had Meds requested without a case
officer.
The following is exactly what was e-mailed to me :-

"A pre-assessment has been made on your application and you are
requested to provide additional information. A case officer will be
allocated to your application at a later date and they will conduct a
full assessment and advise you of the next stage in the process."

I hope this answers your question.
I do beleive that this is to speed up the process,to get us to provide
meds and police checks in advance of a C.O.,hopefully so that when a
C.O. is allocated they can just rubber stamp the visa.
All the best to the other June applicants and it looks like Julys may
hear something in December.
