Default Married Under Visa Waiver

Hi,

Looking for advice,we <US wife> and I Uk citizen, travelled in May to
visit her parents in Washington State. Love was in the air and I
proposed. We knew that it is not illegal to marry in that situation. My
wife was offered a job here in Seattle and we decided to try and
stay.Needless to say, I have now overstayed. I would like advice from
fellow people who married on the VWP, and what the best way is to go
about legalizing my stay here if possible,is it difficult? Does it make
it easier if you have a sponsor of good standing? Please help I would go
back to the UK but there must be a way, staying within the US. Thanks

Just file the forms as every one else. Except be prepared for a
GRILLING of an interview when you go -- since many VWP marraiges have a
higher rate of "shams". Plus having to *prove* you had tourist
intentions when you arrived.

Don't worry. Only 2% of marraiges don't end in GC's if you take a
denial to the courts. Then it's the IS that has to PROVE that your
marraige isn't bona-fide. The tables get turned, and the IS doesn't
have the resources to fight it. So you always win.

Do NOT leave the US until you have completed adjustment of status.

You did a silly thing by not resolving this before you had an overstay.
Why did you do that?
