Dear Mr. Miller, I'm going to land in Canada for a couple of days in
Jan and then come back to the US to fulfill my commitments and then
eventually move to Canada permanently by June 04. As I understand, PR
Card application is part of the landing process BUT I don't have to
apply for my SIN Card or Health Card until I move to Canda for good.
However, God forbid, if my plan to go permanently to Canada gets
delayed (say till June 05), will it have any negative impact on my PR
status? If my plan gets delayed, I'll just have my PR card but no SIN
Card, Health Card, Bank Account, residence or anything else in Canada
till June 05. Can that be a problem? As I understand, my PR card alone
is sufficient to prove my PR status in Canada, as long as I maintain
2/5 rule. Am I right?
Moreover, these are the documents I’m going to carry with me while
landing. Should I carry something else also?
1. Passport with visa stamp
2. COPR
3. Proof of Funds (same day ATM statement from my bank)
4. List of original goods (it will just have a couple of items)
5. List of goods to follow (most of the values here will be approximate)
Thanks.
