Default Long time since Meds & PCC

Hello,

I sent out my PCC way back in July 2003. The Meds and the original
skills assessment went in June.

I haven't heard from the ASPC since then. Think I should call ?? Have
just sent them a letter asking for an update and stating that all docs
were sent by July.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks.

If the PCC and medicals were requested, yes, you have every right to
call as it's way past the normal processing time.

If you have frontloaded, no, be patient and don't call until at least 12
to 15 months after you lodged your application. If by then the pcc or
medicals have expired, bad luck, that's the risk you took when
frontloading. This of course assuming you applied for a normal Skilled
Independent visa without priority processing.

Hi mate,

We are in the same boat. I have done the medical examination on 12.
June 2003, as requested by ASPC. Have not heard a thing ever since.
Called the ASPC two months ago and found out that my case officer had
changed... The guy at the ASPC did not want to give me any update.

I wrote two e-mails to my new case officer on
but have not got
any reply.

There is not a single moment during the day that I do not think about my
application outcome. It is a real nightmare. I know exactly how you
must feel.

I really hope that it is coming our way (visa that is).

Cheers and good luck.

I suggest you call them soon. And if you get no better than a standard
response, engage a lawyer. That's a lesson I've learned the hard way.

I was in the same boat. Waited for quite some time for them to get
back. Each time I called up though - I was told it's being processed.
But then I engaged the lawyer to find out what's going on - that
revealed that they were actually expecting some more documents...!!
Alas, it was all sorted out.

Don't agree with that Hans, even front loaded applications can be
checked upon, I would call with the question "Will my Meds still be
valid in time of processing"

Then you will at least get an idea of whats happening.

When was your application lodged? i.e. When did the Oz Immigration take
the money from your bank account?

Mine was lodged on the 18th March and still waiting and using an agent.
I'm on week 48, I think?

Pete

Of course they can be checked upon, but you should not if
you haven't been waiting for the normal processing time yet. If you
start asking questions before that, 9 out of 10 times the answer will be
"be patient, and wait for a case officer to be assigned to your case"
and you won't be any wiser. And in 10 out of 10 times your impatience
has caused additional work for ASPC and hence effectively slowed down
the processing of your and everyone else's application. And a question
like "Will my Meds still be valid in time of processing" you can answer
just, or at least almost, as accurate as ASPC, yourself by checking on
this forum and on austimeline to see what the average waiting time is at
the moment. And of course there's a lot of uncertainty in that, but
unless you already got a case officer, ASPC won't be able to take away
that uncertainty, because they can't see in the future and tell you
exactly when they'll get to your case. You chose for that uncertainty
yourself when you front loaded. Again, this is all assuming your case
isn't getting priority processing.

i wonder if ASPC will one day have an electronic tracking system that allows
for some feedback regarding progress of applications
