landing... and then going back to take care of remaining business
I just got my request for my passport and sent it to Buffalo. I assume
that means I got it.
Now, once I get it, does anyone know if I can do this:
move a majority of my belongings (or almost none but at least list
them for customs) and move to canada. Then after a few days come back
to the US to finish up business at my job and any remaining packing
etc. This may be especially helpful so that I can have official
permanent residence status and be able to get the ball rolling for an
OHIP card, SIN card and get my PR card sent too. OHIP takes 3 months
before you are covered so I'm not sure if its legit to "land and
leave". I'm thinking that i will settle permanently by January, but as
I said, I'm anxious nd want to get things going.
Thanks for any advice

Re: landing... and then going back to take care of remaining business
Your 3 months for OHIP will start counting from the day you
permanently move to Ontario, not from the day you land.

Re: landing... and then going back to take care of remaining business
You must reside in Ontario for 3 months to qualify for OHIP, not just
"land to establish permanent residence"...
