My fiancee and I are currently in Canada as se is here as a visitor until
May 23rd. We are loking at our options and the K1 seems to be the best fit
for us to be together. She will go back to Utah and start working again.
My question is, if we go through the process and I come down on a K1 visa, I
will not have a job!! I am the one supporting her. She is still finishing up
university and would be working at a low-paying job. How does the US view
these kinds of situations? I will sell my house and have money in the bank
but need to know what the rules are towards the financial aspect while the
fiancee is there on the K1.
How quickly can I get work once I get there on a K1? Or do I wait until we
wed and I apply for AOS? Once that happens when can I work?
I guess the main question is when can I work in the US once I go down on a
K1??s I am the financial supporter.
