Hi all,

I've received my packet 3 from the US Embassy in London
today.I cannot beleive how quick it has arrived as we only applied for
the K1 in January.

Anyway now I have a question.Included with the
packet is an I-134 Form Affidavit of support.My fiancee in Texas has
this form already,should I get her to send it over to me before I send
back the DS-230 Part !,DS-156 and DS-156K.

Also I applied for my
police certificate at the beginning of April and I am still awaitings
its arrival.

Also I notice with the pack there is a supplemental with
regard to passport photographs.Which is a bit of a pain as I already
have the 3/4 view and now they have changed to full face view

Alex,

Should need to send back the following forms with Packet 3:

-
DS-156
- DS-156k
- DS-157 (only if your a male, sorry don't know your
gender :) )
- DS-230 Part 1

Make sure you look at the example forms
over at visajourney:

In
regards to your police certificate they take generally 40 days to come
through, they can be a bit quicker but these are the timescales the
police give.

You will need the I-134 Affidavit of Support and
Supporting evidence (tax returns last 3 years, letter from fiance/e's
employer etc) in time for your interview.

Regarding the photo's yes
they are now U.S. passport style, go and get them done and
www.snappysnaps.com they only cost £10!!! Bargain considering
others charge about £30.

James, Thanks for the info.I have another question.On the DS-156 how
long do you intend to stay in the US? What answer did you put.I intend
for life.

Alex,

Did you look at the example forms, I used
them as my benchmark. Anyway for that question .26 I put:

"PERMANENTLY"


Then in .27 I put "MARRIAGE AND RELOCATION TO THE USA".

I suggest
you do the same, that is from the example forms.

My Packet 3 has
yet to arrive. Can't wait until I get to ask all these questions over
again! :)

It shouldn't be long my visa cleared NVC 27th
April. The packet 3 arrived yesterday

Mine cleared NVC on 26 April! Now I am more worried....


Nah, nothing I can do until I get it so panicking is not an option
right now.

I think the
bank holiday has probably delayed your Packet 3 arrival. Why don't you
email London and ask if they've recieved it and are sending it out yet?
I did and I got an email that afternoon saying "We have recieved your
case from NVC and are sending out Packet 3 to you today". It was the
best email i've ever had from London Consular :)

I've emailed them twice this
week with no response.

Interesting I emailed them
yesterday, and am yet to recieve a response. Perhaps the person who
acknowledges them is off sick or something? :(
