Default Jim Humphries - question about the RCMP thingy

Hi Jim,
You mentioned that the CIC canada would only accept RCMP security
clearance. I don't know whom should I ask. According to
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/crimrec/finger2_e.htm

------------
If you are IN CANADA: you must have your fingerprints taken on form C-216C
at your local police station or private accredited fingerprinting agency.
Depending on the police jurisdiction, a fee may be required.
------------

But should it be necessary to go to my local RCMP itself?

Thanks,
Lee

IT is the local police and not necessarily the RCMP you go to. They have
the form needed. In some provinces the RCMP are the local police too. You
have your fingerprints taken by the localpolice or an accredited agency
(look in the telephone directory yellow pages) and then you send them to the
RCMP with instructions as to where to send the results. Expect to pay a fee
for having your fingerprints taken.
