Default Japanese police clearance

Hi,

I need Japanese police clearance for my visa application.

I reside in Japan presently.

I looked on a Japanese government site and it states that I need to supply
"any document that is grounds for the necessity of this certificate".

Does anyone know what this might be? Do I need to get the Canadian
government to request this clearance? I haven't started my application
process yet. I was hoping that I could request the clearance myself and pick
it up myself.

Any help, advice, info?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

CIC provides a "form letter" for PR applicants to send to the relevant
authorities for requesting a police clearance. It explains why the
person is requesting a police clearance. I'm not sure what kind of
application you are submitting, but for family class PR applicants,
there is a "region specific" guide depending on what part of the world
you are from, containing this form letter. All of this is on the CIC
website.
