All the more reason to be wary of this situation and go through an
adoption agency and the proper channels. I don't know much about
adoption laws, but the birth mother seems to have more and more rights
these days, is sometimes legally able to change her mind even AFTER the
adoption has taken place. Just imagine if this person -- a total
stranger off the internet, no less -- came to the US, had her USC baby,
then changed her mind and either stayed in the US or returned to her
home country. The term "anchor baby" comes to mind, only this time with
benefits (flight, clothes, food, delivery, medical care, etc. all paid
for by someone else).
Not an appropriate topic for this forum, I agree, but I just had to say
that I see red flags flying over this one...
