Not just that, but they even cope with horrible handwriting!

Yours truly makes even blockletters look like Minoan A...

Seriously, does it really have to be in black ink? I think I used a blue
ball point pen. Oops.

Black photocopies better than blue, thats why most official forms ask
for completion in black ink.

Me too written using Blue Pen and the application was accepted. See no
reason that the photocopy quality would be of inferior quality as most
of the photocopier machines these days are modern enough to produce
good output.

Yes, it's ok to handwrite the application form.
To make things easy for your case officer, ensure it's legible.
