Depending from your nationality, background, countries you reside in,
activities and associations your security check may take anywhere from
several months to well over a year to complete - it was initiated after
interview was waived.

Yes, approximately the same.. did medicals/further docs in May (request was
dated in March but I didn't get it til April), got request for additional
test in July, this was sent in August, and nothing yet. (I am a born US
citizen who has only lived at three addresses during my 26 years so I
wouldn't think the security check would take very long, but who knows...)

The problem with troubleshooting is that real trouble shoots back.

My IA was dated April 13 (not received untli April 20).
Did medicals May 04
They received FBI clearance June 23
they mailed passport request September 7
They received passports Sept. 17
I received passports October 1

Since I was 18, I have only lived in US, but was in Sudan for 6 weeks in
1979 and Kenya for 3 months. I doubt this mattered much on my security
check, though.

I think it matters how many dependents are on the application. I had 2
sons, ages 20 & 17.

Yes, my case also the same and would like to give some deatials as per
the following:

Nationality: Citizen of India and residng in Dubai over long time.

Our interview waived and medical done in June. The visa office asked
to submit RCMP report of my dependent son who is already in Canada on
student visa. He did his finger print in May end.

We also submitted all required documents including landing fees by
July end and waiting to hear from visa office.

Can any expert calrify that how long it takes for RCMP to reach from
Ottawa to London? Is this delay is due to RCMP or Back Ground check?

The visa office also made inquiry with our bank before. So what else
in involve in background check.

How do the authority make inquiry for espinage or terror case. This
september 11,2001 has made our lives very hard.

Can I believe that our medical accepted as it's almost comleted 105
day and not hear anything from visa post to go for additional tests,

Please comments.

Thanks.
Praveen

I have no dependents, no spouse, no nothing. It's just me. I would think I
would be the simplest possible case. But then, as important as my case is to
me, I'm sure to them I'm not any more important than anyone else. *shrugs*
This is only frustrating to us, since they hold all the cards! :)

Someday we'll look back on this moment, laugh nervously, and change the
subject.
