Default Interview questions

Hello,

it is my visa interview in a few days.

My wife and I are wondering what sort of questions we might face.

Thanks in advance.

Hi William,

Congratulations on your interview date. You can expect questions
regarding your relationship such as how and when you met, how you
communicate, perhaps questions about current or potential work, just any
sort of question in order for the officer to determine that it's a
legitimate relationship. Not sure what consulate you're going to, but
some place like London someones only asks "how are you today?" and then
approves the visa. LOL Other consulates such as places in the Middle
East, have much more detailed questioning.

Just answer everything truthfully.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Thanks Rene,

My interview is in London, and hoping my cold clears up before hand if
all they do ask is, "How are you today?" otherwise they might think
twice about letting this miserable limey into the U.S. :-)

Aww, William, don't worry---plenty of miserable limeys are let into the
US every day. Just don't bring the bird flu with you.
Best wishes for an uneventful interview!

Hi William,
We have just got back from our interview in London. It was not at all
what we were expecting...! We were given a number upon arrival and then
there was a lot of waiting around with a whole bunch of other people
also waiting for Visas (non-immigrant mainly).
We were called to one window to hand in our paperwork, passports etc -
which took a little while since there were effectively three
applications (myself and my two daughters). Then we were told to pay our
money! and then sit back down and wait to be called for the interview.
The piece of paper they give you tells you it could be a wait of several
hours but we were called through within half an hour.
Very few questions - but we have been married and living together in UK
for three years so perhaps we looked like an old established family
unit! Then Kevin had to sign the Affidavits of Support and that was
pretty much it They told us to hand in the slip of paper to the courier
desk on the way out so they could send our passports with Visas onto us
within the next 48 hours.
We were in the Embassy for a total of two and a half hours maximum -
eating lunch in Subway by 1pm!!!!
Hope yours goes as smoothly. Good luck with it - and let us know how you
get on!!!

Sharon
