hello folks ,

well i just got this news from another forum member on this site that
there is some kind of Industry panel which sits to review all stni
applicants.would like to know if it is true and are all the applicants
scrutinized ??? or is it just for the IT people ....would love to hear
any comments .

also i heard that they sit once in 3 months ...like if they had reviewed
in May then the next time would be August ......

please enlighten me on this issue ..since we have applied for STNI
approval last month {AUGUST}....and if we have missed them ,then it is
agony for us ..
cos we need to wait for the next sitting ....

hi paul,

thanx for replying ....well my hubby has applied for the STATE OF
VIC...he is in the software industry ..his asco code is 2231-17....what
abt yours ????
i agree with u ,by saying that yes ,people have diff views regarding the
meet of the industry panel....some say it is 4weeks so on so
forth....hope someone can really come up with a firm answer ...

Hi Usha,

You've not really given enough details - which state, which industry?
The official line is that the (IT) panel meets every three months, but I
have seen posts on this forum indicating that it might be a little more
random than that.
It is my understanding that every applicant (perhaps after some
shortlisting) is scrutinised by the panel to see how well their specific
skills match those presently in demand in the state.

You could try asking the Vic SMU? I think the IT panel sat within the
last few weeks, so you could be a while.
You need to get used to the idea of waiting, I guarantee you will be
doing a lot of it during the immigration process ;-)
