Default Immigration Rights to a foreign parent of a U.S. born child, I NEED SOME URGENT HELP!

I was wondering if a child is born in the U.S. , would one of his forreign born parents be elgible for Citizenship.

The child was born in the US to one US Born CItizen (the mother), and to a Permanent US Resident father? Would the father be eliglble for any instant or expedited path to US CItizen status?

Many thanks-

LAZ

I've never heard of having a child citizen giving a foreign national any right to citizenship in any country. Just think of the implications. If that were the case, an illegal alien would simply have a baby born in American and he could become a citizen. We know this doesn't happen, so it must not be possible.

You're already a permanent resident, why not just wait until you are eligible for naturalization?
