Default Immigration law in UK for Kiwi

Wonder if anyone can help. My brother has a kiwi girlfriend. he is british and she has lived here for about 4 yrs. she was able to get a visa due to her moving here with an ex british boyfriend. well to cut a long story short....she split up with the b/f and moved out of their shared flat 2 months ago. she is now seeing my brother. She wanted to be honest and advise the immigratin adviser. he has basically told her that as she is no longer living with the man she came into the uk with, she is in breach of her visa and will have to leave promptly!

She has worked here for some time and pays hefty taxes to the UK government. Is there anyway around her being deported?

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!
