Default I751 - What happens????

Does anyone know the process involved once a I751 has been submitted??

My wifes application was filed in April 04 and included her daughter
but only an extension was received for my wife. The INS in our state
(who didnt seem to know what is supposed to happen) have since stamped
the daughters passport for an extra 12 months. They told us to contact
Texas and get a copy of our I751 application to ensure that the daughter
was on it, but firstly i cant believe we didnt include her and secondly
i cant believe that they would give an extension based solely on our
word.

Does anyone have any insight as to how it all works?? I am
hesitant to contact Texas unless i have to as i dont want to harass
them.

Thanks

Well our I-751 was filed with Vermont and we are still waiting for our
daughter's extension notice. At least you made out better than I did. The
Baltimore CIS office wouldn't stamp our daughter's passport because she
wasn't with me. The Baltimore CIS office supposedly faxed copies of my wife
and daughter's permanent resident approval letters and I-551 cards, since
there was no record of our daughter when they entered the receipt number
from the I-751. Told me to give Vermont a month to enter her in the system
and send out a notice. That was June 10 and I'm still waiting for her one
year extension letter. Also sent a letter to Vermont the day before I went
to the Baltimore CIS office, no response to that either.

I guess both of us will be making trip to the Baltimore CIS office next
month. Another 4 hours of annual leave shot. Oh well I probably would
just waste it on a vacation anyway. LOL

I will give them one more chance and then my third trip will be to Barbara
Mikulski's office to speak with her immigration liaison. Still have the
immigration liaison's card from when I filed the K-1 petition.

Nice to see that CIS is nothing like INS. LOL Having dealt with both, CIS
makes SSA seem like FedEx when it comes to service.
