Donna,
The interviews vary widely from place to place, and even from couple to
couple. No two are alike. Affidavits are NOT required. Pictures are
NOT required. They are just one more bit of proof, among the other
things you listed. We brought pictures to our interview and the officer
didn't even look at them. It's true, bring originals of anything you
submitted a copy of...but I don't see rules changing day to day.
Sometimes rules change, yes...but not as fast as day to day.
Good luck at your interview.

Hi Ferhat,
Since you know your interview is in December, you must have received
your interview appointment letter. That letter lists everything you
NEED to bring to the interview, plus some things that you SHOULD bring
to the interview. Bring everything, just in case. That list is very
detailed, so it should be pretty clear what you need to bring.
Just to mention again, since you seem concerned about it...if you are
approved the same day as the interview, you can ask for the I-551 stamp.
They may or may not grant it, some offices do, some don't. But if you
are not approved that same day, you will not get the stamp, and you will
have to wait until you are approved. In the meantime, you will use your
EAD and AP for work and travel.
Best Wishes,
Rene

We had our interview in January of 05. I remember taking an archive box
full of photos, bills etc etc even including my wife's ultrasound
picture. In the end we were asked for a couple of joint bills, the date
of our wedding and for copies of some of our filing paperwork, that was
it. Then I lugged that big box of stuff home again. The interviewer was
very pleasant and the interview lasted less than half an hour.
Good luck with yours.
Jim

Agree with previous posters, but wanted to add:
Bring things that you believe show you are a married couple. Things
that show you live together as husband and wife, that you share a life
together. Regarding the shared life, joint finances seem to hold quite
a high place with USCIS, so bring all joint financial items such as
joint account statements for bank accounts, credit cards, investment
accounts, etc. Any evidence of joint debts or joint ownership. Joint
insurance -- health/auto/home/renters. Joint lease. Etc. Photos of
the two of you together with family members maybe helpful also, it shows
that your families recognize you as a couple. Wedding reception photos,
if you had a wedding, are frequently asked for, so bring them if you
have them. But don't stress if you don't have a particular item, it is
the picture that all of your evidence together builds that is important.

If you have a baby together, it's OK to bring it to the interview, but
it's definitely not the ONLY item you'll need.
