Default i130 processing abroad - missing documents: Checklist Letter Response

Hi,

We just received a letter from NVC with the following:

1. Cover letter stating we have documents which are indicated missing
or need additional information.
2. Letter statinng "Missing Document List... OF-230-I. If you have not
already done so, please submit a completed copy of form DS-230 Part
I, ... We have enclosed a blank copy of the form. Your visa
application cannot be processed until this form is complete."
3. Letter with barcode and at the bottom, it says "(Checklist Letter
Response) CR1".

What does this mean??? We already sent in our DS-230 Part I, and we
know they've received it (via usps priority mail tracking). Do they
want the DS-230 Part I from us, or this CR1 checklist? And if it's the
checklist... which form is this?

Guess we'll probably need to make a phonecall to NVC tomorrow.

Thanks in advance!

CR-1 is the benefit of the type of visa you are applying for. It
would appear that the 230 you sent never was matched up to your file.
Send another one in and enclose a copy of the barcoded letter for
easier match up.

hmmm... ok i just called NVC's automated phone service with our
case number.

"Your case has been completed on Sept. 16th. Please wait 8 weeks for
further notice..."

the cover letter requesting missing documents was dated on sept. 15th
(postmarked sept 16th).

we know our ds-230 part 1 was delivered to them on sept. 10th.

my guess is they just messed up somewhere, and the checklist letter
response was in fact requesting the of-230i (i.e. ds230 part 1).

gunna call tomorrow and talk to someone just to make sure.

hi rete, thanks for the info. i didn't t know what CR1 was. anyway, i
called NVC. they've updated their phone system! now they allow you to
wait on the on the line AND they tell you how long you have to wait,
instead of the automated message saying that they're busy and to call
back again later.

turns out that there was just a cross-over in the mail - they sent out
there missing documents letter before receiving our DS-230. our case is
now complete and they're mailing it off to frankfurt!
