Default I AM WAITING FOR MY HUSBAND TO RECIEVE THE K-3.... i need some info..plz

me and my husband married in alexandria egypt last august 11th 2004... i
stayed only 4 more days with him after we married then i had to come
back to USA to be with my kids from a previous marriage...
it has been
almost 8 months since i have seen or touched my hubby!! we always talk
on the phone and online on MSN.. but i need him here with me .. we hired
a immigration lawyer in sept of last year .. but where he moved to
kuwait to work .. it took so long to get all the information to the
lawyer .. finally on feb 4th the visa processing center recieved all our
paper.. we filed I-130 and then I-129(k-3) i have only been notified the
papers where recieved and that it will take 60-90 days for processing
..i am new to this and i have no idea when i will have my husband here
. he is wanting me to go ahead and move to our flat in alexandria and
bring my children with me and send them to the american school there....
Should i go ahead and do this ? or should i wait for the k-3 does he
have a good chance of getting his k-3 approved???? i am so confused and
lonely without him... whether i move or not iwill go back in june to
visit him.. but i dont think i can leave him again!!!!!
lonely in TN

Welcome to the Cairo Club from another member.

A K3 takes about 8
months or so from start to finish it seems going through Cairo.
Although you've been apart 8 months, I'd recommend a visit instead of
moving if your goal is to ultimately reside here.

On the other hand,
if you love Egypt and your children would be happy living there, it
might one heck of an adventure to live in Alexandria for a year or so.
Do you speak Arabic?

Take a look at my timeline for the K3. It's
fairly typical for a K3 going through Cairo. You have plenty of
company here on this NG so don't hesitate to post when you have
questions.

my husband is from alex too. we did dcf (which is different from your
k-3) and it took 8 months...seems to be the magic number :)

with regard
to sending your kids to the american school in alex..i am very familiar
with that particular school and it is an excellent school if you can
afford it. the tuition is approx. $10,000 per year per student.

i am
a teacher and was considering teaching there in case something
significantly delayed my husband's visa processing - thank god it didnt
:) but i would have loved to live in egypt and will do this at some
point in the future - just not now til we have a very large nest egg
built here.

the cairo club is a great group with lots of experience so
use us as needed for info or support - best wishes.

i am an american citizen and i started my husband process for his resident card in march of last year. he is yet to recieve his k 3 visa packet. i have a co worker who filled it before me and her husband recied it 5 months later( we go to the same lawyer. i dont know what to do. he is wanting to go back to mexico, but im afraid that it will take even longer for him to get his k 3 visa.
