I-864, Letter of Employment, do I really need one?
Hello Everyone, My question is regarding the I-864 form, do I really
need a letter from my husband employer or are copies of his paystub okay
alone? Or do I need both? Or one or the other? Thank for any help with
this matter.

Trinikisses, I am going through a similar process right now. Although my
wife is sponsoring my AOS application, I still asked my boss for a
letter of employment. She only just started working, so it can't hurt to
include my pay stubs and a LOE.

If your husband's income is included on the I-864, then having a letter
of employment is a good idea. If he can't get one, then so be it, and
you'll have to present only what you can get.
Best Wishes,
Rene

My AOS interview was February 27th. I presented pay stubs from both of
us, our tax returns and affidavit of support, the officer was very
pleased with it.
If you can't get the letter is not a big deal, get what you can!!
Good Luck!

Hypertweeky, did you only file the I-864 or did you also file the I-
864a? I was just wondering why you supplied pay stubs from each of you
Thanks,
Chris

Our interview letter said we should bring proof of employment for both
spouses. Not sure if that's what hyper's situation was also but it was
standard in our district office (San Francisco).

Great. Is that because your husband didn't meet the income requirement
or was it a saftey precaution?

A bit nosey, but we did it for NYC not because it was needed to
fulfillment requirements or as a safety precaution. I don't what you
would use it as a precaution against.
We did it because my alien spouse wanted his income on record.
