Default I-765 Questions!

Thank you to all who helped me with questions on my I-485 and G-325A
forms. I am now filling out an I-765 and have come across a field that
I don't know how to answer.

To recap, I last entered the US in Feb 2006 as a TN Visa. In May of
2006 I decided to quit my job as it was not working out as I had hoped
(financial problems). Before leaving the US I decided to visit with my
girlfriend and well... just stayed! We are now married.

On the I-765 it asks in field 14. Manner of last entry to which I
answered TN Visa.

Then in field 15. it asks "Current Immigration Status (Visitor,
Student, etc.)" What should I enter here?

Thanks in advance!

As far as I can tell, you don't have any current immigration status. So
maybe "none"?

I put "pending adjustment of status" on mine, since it was submitted
along with the AOS form...It worked...

That's what I would put as well for the I-765. For the AOS I-485 I
would put TN-1

Oops, I take back "none". Pending AOS is correct.

Dear Rete,

Where it asks for "Current USCIS Status" on the I-485? You would put
TN-1?

Why the "-1" in TN-1? My I-94 doesn't say TN-1... it just says TN.

Thanks in advance,

NJ

Oops! Should add to this, my TN (Feb 2006 - Feb 2007) is now apparently
invalid since I terminated the employment contract I had with my
employer.

I'd still put that, since that's how you entered, and as far as they're
concerned, that's what they likely still think you are. Either that or
"visitor". I also dont think USCIS is too nitpicky about things like
that. Your status will be obvious from the rest of the supporting
documents in the AOS package, and your interview...
