Default I-751 - VSC - NOA Receipt after 2 Months!

Hello all. Filed my I-751 on 8/30/06, check cleared a few days later.
Hadn't heard a thing until NOA finally arrived in today's (11/01/06)
Mail. 60+ days later. This was the Vermont Center.

I'm not sure if any of you read my last post on 8/30/06, I had
mistakenly waited until the absolute last day to file my I-751. It was
due (On or Before? -a grey area) 8/30/06, they day of GC expiration -
Fedex delivered it 8/30/06! Maybe this was the reason for the two
month NOA delay, but I doubt it because VCS is rumored to have been
under a serious backlog the last few months. Anyway, I'm thrilled.

Good luck to all.

Hey there,
I sent my I751 on 9/29. Haven't heard anything from them to date.
Called the 800 number and got the following information:
Receipt # EAC ----------
Receipt date: 10/2/06
Money order cashed: 10/2/06
File Updated: 10/26/06.
Now I'm not worried, I just wanted to know if they had received my
package. I'm not looking for an extension letter as yet, as my GC will
expire in Dec. But I thought I would have least gotten a NOA. The
Service Center is Vermont..
Anyone else have a receipt # beginning with EAC from Vermont?

Hi. EAC is the code for the VSC, they all start with that. I think
you should wait a while and your NOA will show up shortly. If not,
keep calling. I have heard that if your mailbox doesnt have the
applicant's name on it, post office might not deliver it. So as a
precaution I'd put a label on the box until the receipt comes.

Thanks for the response. It's not a matter of mailbox..I'm not sure
what you are saying, just that a NOA was not mailed. I called as I
wanted to be sure that they got the package I sent, so now i know they
did, I stopped worrying. I'll just wait on whatever they sent whenever
they sent it. i have no immediate travel plans anyway, if i do, the
person from the 800 line said that i could make an infopass appt. and
give them the receipt #, and get a stamp. Thanks.

I'm saying that when they mail it, the mail carrier may not deliver it
if your mailbox doesnt have the applicant's name on it. Thats all i'm
saying. So if you wait a while and no NOA shows up, and you call them
and they say they sent it out a while ago, a possible reason you didn't
received it is because the mail carrier may not have put it in your box
because your box had no name on it. All I'm saying is this is
possible, but not likely.

Guess it all depends on the type of backlog there is to be dealt with in
each center isnt it? My friends mailed their applications away on
October 16th recieved NOA's on all three applications 10 days later on
October 26th. Yesterday Nov 3 they recieved an appointment letter for
biometrics for EAD....appointment date 9th November. Their case is MSC
(Missouri I think) they are in Nebraska so Im guessing thats right. I
was telling then their case is progressing a lot faster than mine did so
that was good news for them. Then just this afternoon I heard from them
that they had just got an email notification that a letter was mailed
yesterday requesting further evidence is needed for their 485 Naturally
that sent panic through the two of them but Ive told them not to sweat
it until they know exactly what is required.
It seems like some centers have a real back log while others seem to be
processing things rather quickly so just the luck of what center you
come under I guess.

In the future, you might want to send things with return receipt, so you
know for a fact that it was received and signed for. It only costs a
couple of bucks at the post office but is great for peace of mind.
