Default I-751 InfoPass Update

Hi,

Intro:

Applied for 751 in April 06
Got the 1 yr extension in May06

Called the 1800 about status, they said they sent a letter out on
Aug24 which I never recieved and asked to make an appointment at the
local office.

Today made an Infopass at the local office, they checked the system and
said it was approved and asked for 2 photos ( I gave them 3 though) and
then took the finger print and said they will process the new 10 yr card
and stamped in my passport for 1 yr. Also they took my old card.

My Question, I asked if I can get the copy of the letter they had
sent me back in Aug06 and the officer said he cannot do that , I
requested for a copy of the approval that was in his system and still
the answer was NO.

So can I relax now , believing the case was granted or do I still have
to persue for the letter that I never received or lost.

Thanks,

The stamp in your passport rules all.
If you were not approved, you wouldn't have received that.

Read what your stamp says, on ours it says something like "I-551
approved". The officer should have written in your status -- whether
it's pending or approved.

KK, my husband was given a stamp for only 6 months value when he turned
in the 2-year card. When no card appeared within 5 months, we went
downtown to get another stamp & found that the card had mistakenly not
been ordered. The officer tracked down the file and put the order in.
The new card arrived within a week of that, IIRC.

Congrats, it was really fast. Any how my question is can I rely on the
information that was given at the Infopass, and relax that the 751
application was granted?

Thanks,

I guess if you really wanna make sure and have time, you could just call
1-800 number and get confirmation from them.
