Default I-751 after a year

Hi there everyone,

I got my reciept for my I-751 application on the 2nd September last year and
i'm still waiting to hear anything. So I called the INS, being that my
stamp has expired and i've been unable to get to the office because of the
hurricanes, and they tell me the only way to get in (In Orlando) is by
making an appointment ONLINE, and when I try there aren't any available.

Does anyone know, if I don't get a new stamp will I be an illegal even
though my case is pending? Or does it just mean I can't travel and prove I
can work?

Thank you

Chris Payne

You are in status until your I-751 is adjudicated, regardless of whether
you have a stamp in your passport or not.l
