Default I-485 filing question: How to answer the "current status" if one has an I-529 (change of nonimmigrant status) pending?

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm filing I-485. One question hanging over my head is that my wife
has a pending I-529 (change of nonimmigrant status). We have recieved
the receipt but have to wait for 90-120 days to get the NOA. It's too
long, so we decide to go ahead filing I-485. The querstions are:

1. How to answer the current status? Is pending O-1 ok?

2. Any consequences afterwards? Will BCIS requerst more evidences for
the NOA later?

Thanks.

John
