Default How far is Sta. Eulalia from Ibiza town?

Is travel to the center of Ibiza pretty easy from Sta. Eulalia? Buses,
taxis? The hotel we have is in Sta Eulalia and need to know how far it
is from Ibiza.
Thank you!

Default Is 7 Days in Rome too many days? Critique My Itinerary

I planned my trip to Rome for 6 days, but Continental Airlines just
cancelled flights from newark to Rome on the day I was planning to go (Dec
19-arrive Dec 20). Now I will be in Rome arriving on December 19 and
departing Rome for Florence on December 26.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would critique the current itinerary or
add suggestions to the current itinerary for the extra day I now have:

Here's a quick overview of what I had planned before the change:

Saturday Dec 20th - Arrive - Staying near Piazza Navona
Walk through (tour) Piazza Navona and Campo Di Fiori

Sunday December 21 - Piazza Spagna, North Rome and Orientation Tour
Visit Galleria Borghese
Orientation Tour including Piazza Spagna
City at Night Tour

Monday December 22 - Vatican
5 Hour Vatican Tour
Walk through vatican area neighborhoods

Tuesday December 23 - Walk through areas: Forum, Capitol, Palatine

Wednesday December 24 - Jewish Ghetto, Trastavere, Aventine, Caracalla
at mid-night Mass at St Peters

Thursday December 25 (Christmas)
Open day- Maybe just rest, eat and relax

Friday December 26 - leave Rome for Florence (3 days in Florence and 3 days
in Bologna)

As far as I'm concerned, a lifetime in Rome wouldn't be too much.
I've visited Rome around a dozen times, and I'm going again next
month. Even though I've already seen all the "big name" sights,
more than once, this time I'm staying 28 days.

That's too may days. You can do Rome in 2 days -- 3 max. There are much
better places in Italy than Rome.

This is the one thing I would think you will want to increase,
especially on such a long stay. The Vatican Museum is HUGE. Be sure
to take a big bottle of water and a snack.

I have not really taken a walking *tour* in the neighborhoods, but I
have walked through them and saw nothing particularly interesting.

Too much time IMO. You should consider a visit to the catacombs and
possibly Ostia Antica.

I would actually take a day or two less and visit some small towns in
Tuscany/Umbria if possible, but it doesn't sound like your timing
would work out too well due to Christmas.

Well, I could sure stay in Rome for six or seven days and enjoy it.

Depends, I think, on how interested the OP is in ancient history and
archaeology. I'm an Ostia Antica fan, but I don't know how hospitable the
weather would be at that time of year. Ostia in the p.p.p.persisting rain,
followed by a ride back to Rome on the train isn't my idea of deep joy!

Again, I'm an Umbria fan, but travel might be difficult at Christmas.

Very true! "Per Roma non basta una vita."

actually a serious partical point for the OP.. Since Italy is a
catholic country and Rome is near the Vactian city would there be
places open on Xmas day so he can like go and eat? Or should he buy
some food before hand to eat on the day? (Just thiinking from what
happens here in UK, where places are all close and places that are
open if you haven't book like by now you won't get a seat).

Rather, the Vatican City is *in* Rome.

Yes. Although some are closed, many are open. I've been in Rome
on Christmas day more than once and never had trouble finding
open restaurants.

Maybe, it wouldn't be a bad idea to locate a restaurant you like, ask
them if they are open on Xmas day and reserve it in advance.

I had planned to stay in Rome for two weeks. I was talked into making
it only five days. It was a mistake. Two weeks would have been too
few.

I think we were in Italy for 21 days and had a wonderful trip visiting
Milan, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Siena, Pisa, and Rome as well as
many small towns North of Rome. We are not complaining about the trip
but my original plan is what we should have done. Now we have to
return.
