Default How does a AP work?

Hi there,

We have a quick question about travelling with a AP for Travel. We will
be going back to Nottingham in the UK in 7 weeks and want to make sure
that my re - entry goes smoothly. Do we have to alert anyone as we are
leaving the country? Or is it simply a question of handing the AP paper
to the Official at the Port of Entry when we return?

Also will there be any problems if i use a round trip ticket generated
in the USA? Normally for a foreign traveller the airline officials
insist that you have a return ticket to the home country. This time i
will not need to have that as i am in Process of Adjusting Status in the
USA right ?And my case is still pending on name check.

In addition to the two copies of my AP and passport, of course, is it
necessary to take copies of other paperwork with us. Like marriage
certificate, Nos for AOS ect? I know , this sounds paranoid but i dont
want any problems when we come back.

Also sorry has anyone entered at Chicago on a AP before?

Thanks for your help as always?

Kath.

I would also take the AOS receipt notice.

And do a search - lots of threads on this issue.

I assume you do not have any overstays or other 'issues'...

Yes, you hand the agent your passport and both copies of the AP you were
given. They will stamp and retain one and return the other to you with
the stamp on it stating you have been re-admitted to the US pending
adjusting.

Why would you use any other type of ticket? I'm lost here. You have the
right to return to and remain in the US as a pending adjusters as long
as you have not violated your AP or pending status. Why would the
airline have any say in your ticket?

No you don't need any other documentation. I'm assuming your AP and
passport are both in your maiden name as is your ticket. If there is a
discrepancy in your surname on either of the three documents, then bring
proof of your right to use that name.
