We applied for international calling plan on verizon and we pay $4.95 a
month and we get international rate of 7 cents per minute.

ATT has the same plan as well

Hope it helps!

4.95 extra?? I pay nothing extra for my plan, only for the calls I make.

Well, I don't know if you are calling from the US or to the US, but if
it's from, 10-10-987 (http://www.10-10-987.com/) is 39
cents to connect and then 3 cents a minute after that. It includes all
of the US, Canada, and Western Europe (others, too, I'm sure). I've
been using it since the fall and have cut my phone bills by about 75%.
I call Sweden all the time. The charges show up on your regular home
phone bill.

I also use 10-10-987 to call my other half in the UK. It costs me,
usually, about $40/month. But I also call and talk to him at least 1 hr
every weekday and about 3-4 hrs on Sat. & Sun. We spend quite a bit of
time talking on the phone, so to me $40 to $60 ain't bad, considering.

Not sure what he uses to call me. I think it is a 0845 number. I think
he said it's either 1p/min or 3p/min - I can't remember which.

The Western Union preferred customer card has great rates for Jamaica,
plus you get a $5 credit toward phone time anytime you wire $120 or
more. Something to investigate, especially if you are wiring money.

Jadm, I have seem some bad reports about 10-10-987 overcharging people.

Take a look at this link:

problems.html[/url]

I can't honestly say how widespread this problem is - all telecom
providers have their own share of issues - but it's something to
research slightly further.
