Kuljeet,

there are so many consultants in Chandighad, Delhi - Wiwics etc. But
they charge a lot. Better you study the details before approaching
them.
With a a little home-work & careful study, you will be able to it on
your own.

Just a note of caution here.

As of April 2004 CIC will conduct business only with consultants who are
members in good standing of CSIC and with lawyers who are members in good
standing of bar association in Canada. Only Canadian citizens and permanent
residents in Canada can be members, so all those consultants in India won't
be able to represent you as of April 2004.

Hi Kuljeet,
There is sometimes bher-chaal (sheep-mentality) in India. One person says
xyz is good and others flock to him. Resist the urge even if an elder or an
experienced person who appears very knowledgable says so. Lurk around on
this newsgroup. Use internet. Google for these so-called consultants and
read people's inputs on them. Go to www.cic.gc.ca and read what they have to
say. Don't just blindly spend your money for shosha-baazi. Gather
information. Be sure and then apply yourself or hire a person in "good
standing" with the Canadian authorities. See Miller's response above.

Wish you best.

Hi kuljeet,
as sanjay has told.Lurk around in this news group.Study canadian
immigration website and Lo you are ready to prepare it .Still you have
a problem Go to the consultant at chandigarh with good experience ,
dont go to canadian lawyer or wwics ,negotiate the fees, consult him (
dont pay more than cad $ 500) where ever you have a doubt and file it
on your own .There is no requirement of representation in simple cases
and beleive me skilled worker class is the simplest one simpler than
sorting out algebra sums of 10th standard.

mr berto,
he may or may not be asking questions in this group , even if that
eventuality comes I am sure he will not be asking the addresses of bar
associations, OPIC ,APIC or different umbrellas to recover his money
he paid for the services to hire a lawyer or consultant. To recover
this money you will have to hire another lawyer.Believe me these
complaints will land you no where. How many complaints are there
against wwics?.The more the complaints against them more canadian
dignitaries come to meet them from canada. Here you see there are lots
of lots of complain against lawyers rather than Canadian based
consultant.
And above all this news group is for those who want things to be
clarified. So no harm in it.He can come back anytime.Representative
will give his reply over here he will get from lawyers,
consultants, former visa officers and various applicants.Other day
there was a mail from one poster who hired a lawyer but he is
clarifying his points from Mr Andrew.
So if you want to waste money go to these wwics, sw ,sv,there is no
end to this list. These people will charge exhorbitant amount.
So as advised earlier go to a local consultant ,after doing your home
work, pay little bit of his amount and file it.
Keep checking status on line.Since you are filing from DELH it will
take at least 44 months even for initial review so nothing much will
happen. If you have a friend or relative in Canada you can always go
for CIAPS notes. You will get the exact story what is happening in your
case. For this you can take help of Mr Jim for various codes. How to get
it you will get details in this news group.Lawyer or consultant will
charge big extra money for the same.
And Lo you saved almost a lac of rupees. This is sufficient for one
year survival in canada for a single person.

i woudl suggest wait till mid 2004 befor eapplying.
right now a lot of court cases are going on regardiong the
new regulation. so let things stabilize before applying.

regulation 77 is retroactive regulation....you can never say what
will be the pass mark later. it is being challenged in court.

also wwics people dont seem to know the new rules properly.
they say that pass mark is 67 to take your application but
dont say that as of now the marks can change anytime that will
destroy your case.

all this in courts ....so you will see to wait as of now to see the outcome.

Exactly, and would anyone know or come to know of these processes if not for
the service of professionals in this group who take great effort to deliver
information free of charge. Information they could never obtain from CIC or
visa posts.

Sure, you can do it yourself, thousands do. But, please let us give credit
to those who contributed and continue to contribute to the success of those
who say they did it themselves without counsel but asked questions ad
infinitum in this group or over the phone.

Funny, for something that is so simple, there have been tens of thousands of
posts in this group alone. How many more questions go unanswered? How many
are overrun by department officials who without a strong group to hold them
accountable have absolute power over the lives of so many.
