Default Hotels in Madrid and Barcelona

Could anyone recommend decent (not expensive but not backpack type)
hotels in both barcelona and Madrid? Thank you

In Barcelona, my first choice would be Hotel Continental in La Rambla

and my second choice would be Hotel Turin, in the same vicinity

I stayed at the Best Western Arosa in Madrid last year and thought it was
excellent for the price - about 90 euros for a single, 125 a double.
