hotel discounts in Germany, Switzerland, France?

Hey people,

A coworker's friend is going to Germany (incl. Munich), Switzerland, and France
for holiday for a total of 4 weeks. Are there good discount hotel websites
that she can use and that are good (most important, that are in English)? Any
suggestions?

I have always found that with regard to Switzerland I get a much better
deal by booking direct with the hotel. Many of them have websites (in
various languages including English).

is a good service to check and book hotels for Germany
Rates are often lower than the ones on the homepages of the hotels.

hrs.de is the first place I look for hotels these days. It's rare that
they don't have something at a good rate.

If the hotels have a search facility, the rates are the same. For
hotels with a static rate page, rates are often better. The one thing
that hrs are really good at finding are weekend rates at business
hotels.

You should look also at www.bookings.de. Sometimes i found hotel rates even
better than hrs.de
