homes in Australia...
dont know Australia to well... where would be the best place to look for
homes in the $150-200k (NZ$), and not the dumpy neighbourhoods. Been
looking at
http://www.realestate.com.au/ for places.. but for the most part seems to be
$250k +

That's really the only place I know to look. I always assumed all
houses were on that site unless it was a private sale. If I'm wrong I
would love to know!
Maybe there just aren't any good houses in that price range. What area
are you looking at, maybe someone can clarify.

Re: homes in Australia...
was looking at little more inland, like the south eastern part of NT, north
eastern part of SA, south western part of queens, or north western part of
wales.
i suppose the house wouldnt need to be great shape, but a decent
neighbourhood (for kids) and structally sound. I am capable of doing a full
reno on any place.

From a 07/07/06 report on A Current Affair (Channel 9):
A Current Affair looks at hot suburbs in which to buy property,
depending on your budget and needs.
http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id2419
And from the other Aussie news magazine Today Tonight (Channel 7),
broadcast on 13/10/06:
It's the great Australian bush drive. Populate or perish that's their
mission and the bush is bearing gifts to make that happen. Free land,
no rates, soaring wages, massive discounts, easy living. Just pack up
and move.
