holidays when application is in process

Hi All,
I have just been assigned a case officer and have submitted my
medicals and police checks.
I have been planning to go back home to Kenya (I live in Sydney) for
the Christmas holidays for a period of 3-4 weeks. Does this have any
implications on my skilled independent application? Is this something
I should mention to my case officer?
In the interest of also trying to save money and avoiding two offshore
trips, should I hold off my holidays until I get the grant?
please advice

Possibly, it depends on exactly when you sent your medicals & pcc. If
nothing is wrong with them, your pregrant could be issued anytime
between now and several months, however the actual visa won't be issued
until you have left Australia. So mentioning to your case officer that
you will be doing that in about a month might speed things up in the
sense that (s)he will try to make an effort in getting your visa
application finalised such that it can be issued as soon as you are
overseas. Hopefully...

We`ve had the same thing just the other way round: living overseas and
planning to spend Christmas in Oz. We`ve just sent medicals and PCCs a
month ago and our agent advised to inform the case officer ( by the way,
I got a response within a day for some other issue!) - as visa cannot be
granted while we are in Oz. I guess it`s better to let them know what
you`re up to....they can always delete your e-mail, can`t they.
