Beachcomber

I am an American Citizen who wishes to make a move to Scotland in the spring of 2010. I will need to work - I am a massage therapist and currently work in the hospitality industry. Is there anyone out there who has made a move of this sort or anyone who knows how I can go about this? Much of the little that I have found so far is discouraging, yet I know that it can be done. I have read the immigration requirements for the UK and they are pretty daunting. But all countries have places where they relax their rules. How do I realize this dream of mine?? Anyone?
