Default Health undertaking and dodgy thyroid

Simple question: I have well controlled hypothyroidism (underactive
thyroid) and asthma. On medication, only require annual check-ups.

Am I
likely to be asked for a health undertaking for my spouse visa?

Anyone
with hypothyroidism/asthma had to do this?

Hey Bundy,

I saw your
message on another post earlier about this, I hope you're not worrying
too much.. I did a quick search and came up with about a dozen threads
where this has been covered before. This one in particular seems like it
might be helpful??

Thanks for that. I worry about it constantly!
Having hypothyroidism really doesn't affect my life at all since
diagnosis, which was 2 years ago this week. Been through the whole ream
of tests and got my dosage sorted. So it's officially under control.

I
know from those in Oz who have similar conditions that it costs a
minimal amount to treat, so the cost won't be a factor. i'm just not
sure if I'll have to sign an undertaking. It's the 6 month thing that
worries me - if I front end load my application, that will only give us
about 4 months to get out there! Not really a problem, but it's
something I'd like to know about in advance.

Responded to your question in the other thread...however, here it is
again...

Bundy,

I can not authoritativley say that HSA requested
Health Undertakig specifically due to Hypothyriod condition. But that
was the only one where my partner has been on medication for the past 10
years or so - the condition is fully under control and regular bi-annual
tests show such. The doctor gave Cat B and wrote about hypothyroid
condition being controlled by a certain dose of medication.

Further -
we were not asked to provide any blood test reports or reports from a
specialist - just the medical form with what the doctor wrote as I
mentioned above.

I am sure the medication costs in Australia for this
is really very minor - considering that a month's prescription cost
about US$30 in where else but the most expensive medication cost
location - the USA!!

We will never know the ways of DIMIA or HSA
completely!! Probably makes it less interesting?
