Default health and police.....

Woo hoo !!! The day before I go on holiday, the little yellow envelope
arrived asking me for medicals and police checks - already on the job --
appointments booked, and forms for overseas clearance are on the way..

Now some help please??

1) Do I wait for all the police and med's to be done, and them send them
everything, or do I send it one at a time (I'm sure I already know the
answer!)

2) I have been studying/working in Australia for a few years, what type
of police clearance do I go for - is it a name check only or fingerprint
and name?

3)If I don't get the certificates (one has to come from Zimbabwe ) in
time, can I send the case officer the receipt or something and get an
extension??

4) How long after they receive the papers from me will we be able to go
get those all important stamps???

FYI:
Applied 10 March 2003 for Skilled Independant Migration; Chem. Engineer
from ZW, wife from south africa (also Chem Eng).....

Thanks to all on this newsgroup- I haven't logged in for quite a few
months - but it was an excellent resource and gave good advice when we
put our application together..

Either way will do, provided you quote your file number. You may find
the med provider sends them to ASPC directly.

Whatever you do, use a courier with a door-to-door tracking service
(and use the ASPC courier address), don't trust the regular post.

Name check only will do. There is a fee to be paid.

See form 1101:

You can get an extension if you ask nicely
Send the case officer what you have, and explain the problem. Often
they know if particular countries have lengthy processes.

If you find you cannot get a police check at all, you need to
negotiate a solution with the case officer, and you might need an
experienced agent to help you at that point.

Form 47P has police checking details:

It can vary greatly - anywhere from a few weeks to a number of months.
