Default H-1 Transfer

I am Masters planning to graduate in May 2008. I am planning to start
my Optional Practical Training (OPT) from June 2008. I have a job
offer and my employer said my H-1 would be filed in April 2008 (the
2008 year quota of H-1). The employer also said that the start date
will be in Mid-October to November 2008. Right now I can start working
for that employer or any other employer from June 2008 (as my OPT
starts). If I get another offer with another employer in the month of
June 2008, then I can start working with them.

So, how does the transfer of H-1 work in this case?

The transfer of H-1 can be done by anyone if they have the work
authorization document and the latest two pay stubs. But in this case,
there are no pay stubs.

Default Re: H-1 Transfer

You are in status as long as you have an OPT Employment Authorization
Document. You don't need any payroll stubs, and in fact don't need to
be working at all.

This is not legal advice. I am not your attorney. Send any follow up
inquires to . I do not check the newsgroup for
follow ups.
