Default Re: Got the Passport back with the VISA label

Thank you for replying Lance:)
Our application was sent to Washington 2 weeks ago. It is for a
Prospective Spouse visa.
My partner is a US citizen. The only response we have so far is that
his Visa card has been debited
We are still awaiting the FBI clearance. That was sent in weeks ago.
I do not understand why applications through Washington are so slow.
With the timeline, do you get a ID # after you are allocated a case
manager?
Thanks,
Meryl

Hi Meryl,

My case was processed in Adelaide, so I am really not sure about the
procedures at the Washington embassy. The only time I had to deal with
them was after I got my grant letter when I had to send my passport
for Visa evidencing, which they did very fast. You can call them on
(1-888-990-8888). It is a difficult number to get thru but once you
do, they are very helpful.

I did get a case number when I first received my acknowledgement
letter from Adelaide, which I was supposed to quote every time I
contacted them.

Thanks Lance,
I will pass that info on to my partner. He is the one in the US. We
are really struggling with this separation.
I have found DIMIA in Australia helpful a swell when I have asked for
explanations.
