Default Got the Passport back with the VISA label

Hi,

I received my passport back from the Australian embassy in Washington
DC with the VISA label on, yesterday. It took only 5 days as they
promised. I sent a money order for UPS overnight delivery as
requested.

The Label itself has all the details including the Visa class, the
entry requrements and how long it is valid etc.

Well, next step is to get ready to make the first entry before 23rd
October so looking at air fare now. I will update as things happen.

Good Luck all ! And thanks for all your help. This news group is a
GOLD MINE !

Hey Threlly and Walla,

Well you are right, I haven't got that much time so I'm planning a
short trip in the first week of October, come back and get ready for
the big move around Jan-Feb 2005. The initial trip will be to Sydney
but I have my eyes set on Melbourne for settling down. But I need to
do quite a bit of fact finding before I make a final decision on that.
Your inputs will be appreciated !!!

I am a software developer by profession.

Hi Lance, firstly congratulations. What does the visa look like? (I've
never asked this question before and I am starting to get curious.)

Hi Lance,
May I ask what type of visa and how long the process took?
We are applying for Prospective Spouse and the spreadsheet on George
Lombard's site has me feeling very disappointed re timelines.
Our application is in, without the FBI check as we are still awaiting
it.
Congrats:)

Hi Meryl and CRAZYboutOZ,

Meryl,
Mine is a skilled idependent class. You can find my complete time line
at

http://www.austimeline.com/austime/a...pp.jsp?id=1072

From Application to Visa label it took 1 year and 3 months. It would
have been about 1.5 months sooner if not a for a slight delay at my
agents office. Please let me know of you need further info. When was
your application sent?

CRAZYboutOZ, the Visa is a label they stick on your passport. It has
the Australian national emblem with the Emu and the Kangaroo in the
back ground. Printed on it you find your name, your visa class, a
number which i think is the Visa number, name of the embassy it is
issued at, date for the first entry and also the 5 year period it is
valid for. It also has the text "Holders(s) permitted to remain in
Australia indefinitley". Hope that helps.
